Tubes for the number, flaps for the word

How the flap module works

Split-flap is the mechanism of old station boards: tiles that flip to reveal the next character, with the clatter that comes with it. On the Signature, each flap composes a letter of the label. A flap drum carries only letters, a space and a few symbols (€, %, dot), no digits, because the digits are the Nixie tubes' job, right above.

The result: your dashboard shows both the value, glowing in the tubes, and its nature, spelled out on the flaps. MRR, SUB YT, BTC, VISITS, with no more guessing what the device is counting.

The higher the range, the longer the label

The number of flaps grows with the range (three, five, then six) while staying below the number of tubes: the flap row is shorter than the tube row, centred beneath it. The usable label length therefore depends on the range you choose.

Frequently asked questions about the Signature option

What is the Signature configuration?

Signature is an option available on all three Nixie Pulse ranges (Mini, Standard, Pro). It adds a row of mechanical split-flap modules below the Nixie tubes. The tubes still show the value in figures, and the flaps spell out the KPI label, for example MRR, SUB YT or VISITS. You read the data and what it means at a glance, with no screen or printed sticker.

Why does the label length depend on the range?

The number of flaps is smaller than the number of tubes and grows with the range: the flap row is shorter than the tube row, centred beneath it. The Mini has three flaps (three-character labels: MRR, SUB, REV), the Standard five (MRR, SALES, USERS) and the Pro six (SUB YT, VISITS, SALES). The higher the range, the longer the label can be, with no equality to the number of tubes.

Do the flaps make noise?

Yes, and that's the point. Each label change produces the mechanical clack of old display boards. It's part of the pleasure of the object. Because the refresh is infrequent (the label changes when the displayed metric changes), the sound stays occasional and unobtrusive.

Is Signature available right away?

Signature configurations aren't produced yet, so they aren't sold online for now. Join the waitlist to be notified when orders open. Available Classic configurations, on the other hand, are on sale as usual.
